Senior Product Designer (Design Systems)
๐ Job Overview
Job Title: Senior Product Designer (Design Systems)
Company: Torq
Location: Tel Aviv-Yafo, Tel Aviv District, Israel
Job Type: Full-Time
Category: Product Design / Design Systems
Date Posted: May 25, 2026
Experience Level: Senior (5-10 years)
Remote Status: On-site
๐ Role Summary
-
Own and evolve Torq's comprehensive design system, ensuring product-wide visual and interactive consistency.
-
Architect and maintain a Figma component library and design tokens, synchronizing them with the production codebase.
-
Develop and document the design system for AI coding agent consumption, enabling accurate UI generation and reducing rework.
-
Drive best practices in accessibility (WCAG) and ensure components meet rigorous standards.
-
Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to champion design system adoption and evolution.
๐ Enhancement Note: While the core function is Product Design with a Design Systems focus, the unique emphasis on AI coding agent readiness positions this role at the intersection of design, engineering, and emerging AI technologies. This requires a candidate who not only excels in traditional design system management but also understands the nuances of structuring design artifacts for machine interpretation.
๐ Primary Responsibilities
-
End-to-end ownership of the Torq design system, encompassing component library, design tokens, usage guidelines, Storybook, and comprehensive documentation.
-
Ensure a high standard of design execution and consistency across all user-facing surfaces of Torq's AI SOC platform.
-
Build and meticulously maintain a Figma component library, ensuring seamless synchronization with the production codebase to minimize design-code drift.
-
Structure the design system specifically for AI coding agent consumption, defining clear naming conventions, documentation standards, and explicit rules for tokens and components.
-
Create and manage foundational AI context files (e.g., CLAUDE.md) detailing color rules, component guidelines, interaction patterns, and precise guardrails for correct component utilization by AI agents.
-
Establish robust versioning, deprecation, and contribution processes to ensure the design system evolves in a controlled, predictable, and scalable manner.
-
Proactively identify opportunities for design system improvements and advocate for their implementation across product development cycles.
-
Collaborate with engineers to understand technical constraints and opportunities, ensuring the design system is both practical and performant.
-
Champion the adoption and consistent use of the design system across product and engineering teams through training and ongoing support.
๐ Enhancement Note: The responsibility to make the design system "AI coding agent-ready" is a significant differentiator. This implies the need for meticulous documentation, strict naming conventions, and a deep understanding of how AI models interpret design specifications. The role requires a proactive approach to defining these AI-specific standards, rather than simply adapting existing ones.
