🚀 Role Summary

📈 Primary Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the P&L and operational objectives of the Auto and Umbrella product portfolios, driving profitability and market share growth.

  • Lead the conceptualization, development, and successful launch of innovative multi-product offerings, as well as enhancements to existing products.

  • Collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management partners to ensure all product designs and implementations adhere to applicable laws and regulations.

  • Develop and present strategic recommendations for launching new products, including digital channels, through buy/build/ally decisions.

  • Oversee the analysis and evaluation of product performance metrics to inform strategic recommendations for market opportunities and product enhancements.

  • Influence and drive strategic decisions with key enterprise stakeholders to execute USAA's mission and advance product development.

  • Create and manage product and coverage solutions from ideation through execution, ensuring a robust product development pipeline.

  • Monitor and manage post-launch maintenance, underwriting, product rules, rates, and forms based on performance, member needs, and competitive landscape.

  • Report on the results of new product offerings to the executive team, benchmarking against initial plans.

  • Ensure functional resources are aligned to support the formulation of product strategy and execution.

  • Partner with sales and distribution channels (e.g., .com, mobile, contact center) to ensure products meet current and future member needs.

  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team of individual contributors and managers through effective recruiting, development, coaching, performance management, and retention strategies.

  • Ensure effective identification, measurement, monitoring, and control of risks associated with business activities in accordance with policies and procedures.

Application Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of industry experience in operations, marketing, actuary, or underwriting, including direct product management. Must have 4 years of people leadership experience and expert knowledge of the Product Development Life Cycle.
