This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 Regulations across a diverse project portfolio, focusing on health and safety within the design and construction lifecycle.

The CDM Principal Designer will proactively manage and mitigate design-related health and safety risks, embedding safety principles from inception through to project handover.

This position requires strong collaboration with multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors to foster a culture of safety and risk awareness.

The role involves significant responsibility for documentation, including Pre-Construction Information (PCI) and Health and Safety Files, ensuring accuracy and adherence to strict procedures.
๐ Enhancement Note: While the core of this role is Health & Safety focused, the operational aspects of managing compliance, documentation, and cross-functional coordination align it with operational management, particularly in regulated sectors. The emphasis on process, risk mitigation, and lifecycle management is key to the operations appeal.
๐ Primary Responsibilities

Support the Lead CDM Manager in fulfilling all statutory duties and responsibilities as the Principal Designer under CDM 2015 Regulations.

Coordinate effectively with architects, engineers, and other design team members to identify, eliminate, and control foreseeable health and safety risks during the design stages.

Facilitate and lead CDM review workshops with design teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into all project phases.

Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive CDM Risk Registers throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring they are current and reflect evolving project conditions.

Gather, compile, and distribute Pre-Construction Information (PCI) packs to relevant parties during the design
Application Requirements
Requires a degree or higher diploma in architecture, engineering, construction management, or occupational health and safety. Must have strong knowledge of UK CDM 2015 Regulations and be eligible for UK SC Security Clearance.
