🚀 Role Summary

📈 Primary Responsibilities

  • Scale and evolve the existing design system, prioritizing high-impact legacy user interfaces within the Order.co platform.

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of current user experiences to identify component gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for component consolidation and standardization.

  • Partner with engineering teams to develop scalable, accessible, and production-ready UI components that align with the design system.

  • Champion and enforce design principles, including usability, accessibility (WCAG standards), visual consistency, and overall product quality across all user-facing features.

  • Establish clear design system principles, guidelines, and best practices, and effectively communicate them across Product, Design, and Engineering departments.

  • Research, prototype, and explore the application of AI tools to streamline component discovery, automate documentation, perform quality checks, and potentially generate new design patterns.

  • Minimize design and development duplication across teams, thereby enhancing overall efficiency and reducing time-to-market for new features.

  • Define and track key metrics to measure the adoption, usability, and effectiveness of the design system, using data to inform iterative improvements.

🎓 Skills & Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in building, scaling, or significantly evolving a comprehensive design system.

  • Strong expertise in component-based design methodologies and the creation of reusable interaction patterns.

  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including deep knowledge of its features for design systems (e.g., components, variants, auto-layout, shared styles).

  • Solid understanding of how design system components translate into production code, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers.

  • Demonstrated experience in partnering closely with engineering teams, understanding technical constraints, and navigating trade-offs between design flexibility, consistency, and scalability.

  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and a proactive curiosity about their application to design systems and product development workflows.

  • Exceptional visual design, interaction design, and systems-thinking capabilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.

  • Commitment to championing usability and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG). Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Fintech and/or E-commerce industries.
