Company: Cobre

Location: Bogotá, Colombia

Job Type: Full-time

Category: Product Design / UX/UI Design

Date Posted: July 30, 2026

Experience Level: Senior (7+ years)

Remote Status: Remote Friendly (with potential for hybrid in Bogotá)

🚀 Role Summary

  • Lead end-to-end product design initiatives for core business portals, focusing on payments, balances/stablecoins, and cross-border transactions.

  • Co-lead Design Operations (Design Ops) to maintain design system consistency, naming conventions, and component governance as the product scales.

  • Drive user research, including interviews and qualitative studies, to inform design decisions and identify UX gaps and inconsistencies.

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Frontend, Backend, and Customer Success teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with user needs and business objectives.

  • Mentor junior designers, contributing strategic product vision beyond tactical execution.

📝 Enhancement Note: While the primary focus is Product Design, the role's emphasis on Design Ops, system governance, and cross-functional collaboration indicates a strong need for process-oriented thinking and operational excellence, aligning it closely with Revenue Operations or GTM Operations principles in terms of driving efficiency and scalability. The role is based in Bogotá, Colombia, but the "remote friendly" designation suggests flexibility for candidates within Latin America or potentially other regions, though local collaboration will be key.

📈 Primary Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the complete design lifecycle (from ideation and wireframing to high-fidelity mockups in Figma) for key product areas including Portal Core, Payments, Balances/Stablecoins, and Cross-Border functionalities.

  • Actively participate in and co-lead Design Ops activities, such as establishing and enforcing naming conventions, maintaining Design System documentation, and governing component libraries to ensure scalability and consistency across the product.

  • Serve as the primary guardian of nomenclature and taxonomy, ensuring that naming decisions are accurately reflected in the Design System, its documentation, and its associated components.

  • Conduct comprehensive UX audits to identify inconsistencies in language, technical labels exposed to users, and overall user experience gaps, particularly concerning navigation and internationalization.

  • Execute recurring user interviews and qualitative research, staying abreast of industry design and research trends and critically applying them to Cobre's context.

  • Partner with Product and Analytics teams to define event taxonomy and tracking strategies, ensuring accurate measurement of user experiences and product performance.

  • Maintain up-to-date Figma file structures and track initiative progress using team management tools like Sheets and ClickUp.

  • Refine user stories with clear acceptance criteria, preparing them for development execution in collaboration with the product team.

  • Actively engage in team rituals including Sprint Status, Planning, Backlog Refinement, and Design Critiques, and propose new sessions or co-creation workshops with other departments.

  • Communicate progress, decisions, and trade-offs effectively to Product, Frontend, and leadership stakeholders.

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with Frontend, Backend, Product, and Customer Success to validate technical viability and ensure solutions address genuine user needs beyond mere hypotheses.

  • Provide mentorship to peers, offering design feedback during reviews and contributing strategic insights into product vision and strategy.

  • Explore and propose innovative work methods, leveraging AI tools (e.g., AI-assisted prototyping, Figma MCP) to accelerate the team's design cycle.

📝 Enhancement Note: The responsibilities highlight a strong need for operational efficiency in the design process, emphasizing documentation, system governance, and cross-functional alignment. This mirrors the operational focus of roles in Revenue Operations and Sales Operations, where process standardization and efficiency are paramount for scaling. The mention of "ClickUp" and "Sheets" indicates a need for familiarity with operational project management tools.
