  • Drive clash detection and resolution processes to identify and mitigate conflicts between structural steel and other building trades.

  • Facilitate the production of CNC files for fabrication equipment, directly integrating digital models into manufacturing processes.

  • Mentor and train VDC staff and Tekla detailers on best practices, software updates, and efficient modeling techniques for enhanced project delivery.

📝 Enhancement Note: This role is firmly within the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and BIM Management domain, with a strong specialization in structural steel. The emphasis on Tekla Structures, CNC file generation, and constructability review indicates a critical link between design, fabrication, and field execution, aiming to optimize the entire construction lifecycle for steel projects.

📈 Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain Tekla Structures modeling standards, templates, customized components, and content libraries for steel detailers, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

  • Manage and train the detailing and VDC team on Tekla Structures best practices, software updates, and advanced modeling techniques.

  • Lead BIM coordination meetings, manage clash detection processes using relevant software, and proactively resolve conflicts with other trades to ensure seamless integration.

  • Collaborate closely with the fabrication manager to produce accurate CNC files (e.g., STP, DXF, IGS, NC, ENC, NC1 Files) that integrate directly with shop fabrication equipment.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce BIM execution plans, modeling standards, and project-specific workflows to guide all VDC activities.

  • Perform or oversee detailed constructability reviews and clash detection analyses to identify potential issues early in the project lifecycle.
