Mentor junior designers and contribute to the growth and maturation of Motive's design culture and practices.
๐ Enhancement Note: The role is explicitly for a "Senior Product Designer" with a focus on "fleet and freight management products" utilizing AI. This implies a need for designers who can understand complex operational workflows and translate them into user-friendly interfaces. The emphasis on "design systems" and "cross-functional collaboration" with "operations" suggests a need for strong process orientation and communication skills beyond typical visual design. The remote nature within India indicates a focus on talent acquisition across a broad geographical region, requiring strong self-management and remote collaboration skills.
๐ Primary Responsibilities
-
Conduct in-depth customer and business problem discovery through qualitative research, quantitative data analysis, and stakeholder interviews.
-
Own the entire design lifecycle for assigned features and products, from initial concept generation and user flow mapping to detailed interaction design, prototyping, and final execution.
-
Partner with Product Managers and Engineering leads to define, validate, and prioritize core use cases, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs.
-
Develop comprehensive design documentation, including user journeys, workflow diagrams, wireframes, and interactive prototypes, to clearly articulate design solutions and facilitate cross-functional understanding.
-
Build consensus and effectively communicate design vision, rationale, and trade-offs to diverse stakeholders through compelling storytelling, presentations, and design reviews.
-
Maintain an obsessive focus on interaction and interface details, ensuring a polished, intuitive, and highly usable end-product.
-
Serve as a key strategic partner to Product, Engineering, and Operations counterparts, providing design leadership and contributing to product strategy discussions.
-
Collaborate closely with Engineering to ensure efficient and accurate implementation of designs, actively participating in QA processes to uphold design integrity.
-
Drive continuous improvement by defining key success metrics, analyzing post-launch performance data (quantitative and qualitative feedback), and iterating on designs to optimize user experience and business outcomes.
-
Mentor and guide other designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing design team environment, and contributing to the establishment and refinement of design best practices.
๐ Enhancement Note: The responsibilities highlight a full-stack design ownership, from research to post-launch iteration. The explicit mention of "operations" as a key stakeholder group emphasizes the need for designers to understand and design for complex operational environments, not just consumer-facing applications
Application Requirements
Requires over 7 years of experience in interaction and interface design with a strong portfolio showcasing problem-solving skills. Candidates must be proficient in creating detailed design concepts and navigating industries undergoing disruption.
