<li>3 years of experience managing projects, and working in a large, matrixed organization.</li>
<li>Experience in AI, machine learning, or automated features.</li>
<li>Experience with technology innovation in an early-stage or start-up environment.</li>
<li>Experience with a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods and knowledge of when and how to apply them during the product development process.</li>

We collaborate closely with each other and with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver value for the people who use them, and for Google’s businesses.<br><br>As a User Experience Researcher (UXR), you’ll help your team of UXers, product managers, and engineers understand user needs. You’ll work with stakeholders across functions and levels and have impact at all stages of product development. You’ll play a critical role in creating useful, usable, and delightful products. You’ll explore user behaviors and motivations by conducting primary research such as field studies, interviews, diary studies, participatory workshops, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis. <br> <br>The UXR community at Google is unique and will help you do your best work. You’ll have the opportunity to work with and learn from UXRs across Google through regular meetups, mentor programs, and access to internal research tools.</p>
<p>We are the AI and innovation research team within Google’s Platforms and Devices organization. Our mission is to develop and launch AI/ML experiences across high-priority Platforms and Devices initiatives, and accelerate the goal of the universal assistant.</p><p>The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.<br><b></b></p><p>The US base salary range for this full-time position is $151,000-$222,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. <h3>Responsibilities:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Own goal and strategy discussions through research by analyzing, consolidating, or synthesizing what is known about user, product, service, or business needs.<br></li>
<li>Formulate the UX research agenda and roadmap across a portfolio of ambient and agentic AI products and experiences, ensuring alignment with high-level product and organizational strategy.</li>
<li>Develop and implement scalable frameworks and models to understand user needs, both stated and unstated and their relationship with emerging AI capabilities.</li>
<li>Design, plan, and execute, research studies utilizing a comprehensive mix of qualitative (e.g., interviews, ethnography) and quantitative (e.g., surveys, log analysis, A/B testing) methodologies.</li>
<li>Conduct advanced analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data to generate clear, actionable insights that inform the creation of useful, usable, and delightful transformative AI experiences.</li>

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience in applied research, with expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Preferred qualifications include a Master's or PhD and experience in AI and managing projects in large organizations.
