  • Spearhead the end-to-end management and coordination of design delivery for complex data centre projects and major workstreams within a fast-growing international organization.

  • Drive multidisciplinary design coordination across Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, and Architectural disciplines, ensuring seamless integration and constructability.

  • Act as a critical liaison between clients, the internal Design & Engineering teams, and the project execution organization, guiding projects from initial concept through detailed engineering to construction support, commissioning, and final handover.

  • Uphold rigorous technical standards, ensuring design solutions are buildable, compliant with local regulations (including Norwegian Planning and Building Act - PBL, TEK17, SAK10, NEK 400), and aligned with critical programme, procurement, and construction priorities.

πŸ“ Enhancement Note: This role is explicitly office-based in Oslo, requiring a full-time commitment to the CTS Group office, with occasional travel. The emphasis on "Design Manager - Office" suggests a focus on managing the design process from a central hub, contrasting with site-based Design Managers. This role is crucial for GTM strategy by ensuring that the physical infrastructure aligns with market demands and project timelines.

πŸ“ˆ Primary Responsibilities

  • Own and meticulously manage the project design programme, ensuring strict alignment between engineering deliverables, procurement timelines, manufacturing schedules, and construction sequencing.

  • Orchestrate and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities, fostering collaboration among Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Architectural, and specialist engineering consultants.

  • Proactively manage design consultants and specialist engineering partners, ensuring clear scope definition, timely delivery of high-quality outputs, and adherence to performance metrics.

  • Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date design deliverables register and a precise information release schedule to facilitate project progress tracking.

  • Drive and oversee BIM (Building Information Modeling) and digital design coordination efforts to guarantee integrated, clash-free, and construction-ready design packages.

  • Lead and facilitate structured design reviews, with a sharp focus on technical compliance, constructability, operability, adherence to programme, and overall project requirements.

  • Coordinate intricate design interfaces with CTS Execution, Manufacturing, Procurement, and other relevant internal teams to ensure a unified project approach.

  • Serve as the primary office-based escalation point for site-based Design Managers, efficiently resolving RFIs (Requests for Information) and technical queries, and formally approving design changes.

  • Champion value engineering initiatives and design optimization efforts, while rigorously protecting technical performance, system resilience, and critical client requirements.

  • Proactively manage design risks, changes, and technical interfaces, conducting thorough assessments of potential programme and cost impacts to inform decision-making.

  • Actively support permitting processes, regulatory approvals, and engagement with the kommune (municipal building authority) and national regulators, ensuring compliance.

  • Manage consultant scope of work, design fees, and associated commercial risks to ensure financial project health.

  • Ensure consistent application of CTS engineering standards, established processes, and valuable lessons learned across all projects to foster continuous improvement.

πŸ“ Enhancement Note: The responsibilities highlight a strong emphasis on process control, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration, which are core to effective Revenue Operations and Sales Operations alignment in a project-driven environment like data centre development. The need to manage consultant scope and fees points to a commercial awareness requirement beyond pure technical design.
