🚀 Role Summary

  • Lead the comprehensive design and engineering process for complex, high-value semiconductor manufacturing facilities, ensuring alignment with aggressive construction and operational readiness schedules.

  • Serve as a critical liaison between client stakeholders, Architectural & Engineering (A&E) firms, design builders, construction teams, and internal project management, fostering seamless integration of design intent and project objectives.

  • Drive the development and execution of technical planning, scope definition, and change management strategies to accommodate dynamic manufacturing technology shifts and production volume demands within owner-operated semiconductor environments.

  • Manage all facets of design deliverables across multiple disciplines, including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process utility, cleanroom, and life safety systems, ensuring constructability and adherence to client standards.

📝 Enhancement Note: While the role title is "Design Manager," the responsibilities and context clearly place this within an advanced engineering and project management operations framework, specifically focused on the operational readiness and execution of large-scale industrial facilities. The emphasis on "owner operated semiconductor environments" and "project solutions organization" indicates a deep dive into the operational lifecycle of these facilities, moving beyond pure design into execution and integration.

📈 Primary Responsibilities

  • Design Integration & Scope Management: Manage and integrate all aspects of technical planning, scope development, change management, positioning, programming, and design for new build and large retrofit semiconductor manufacturing facilities.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a key interface between the client, A&E firms, design builders, construction teams, engineering consultants, and internal project stakeholders to ensure design intent, constructability, schedule, cost, and operational requirements are aligned.

  • Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Coordinate design deliverables across architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process utility, cleanroom, life safety, and facility infrastructure disciplines.

  • Information Translation: Proactively gather and translate technical and business information from customers, stakeholders, A&E partners, design builders, and engineering teams into clear scopes of work for baseline program cost, schedule, and execution requirements.

  • Change Management Leadership: Lead effective scope change management to support highly dynamic manufacturing technology requirements, facility modifications, and production volume changes.

Application Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with over 10 years of experience in project engineering or design management. Proven track record in high-tech industries, specifically semiconductor fabs or cleanroom environments, is strongly preferred.
