Purpose of the Role

We have a new opportunity within our Software Development team as UX Designer. This person will champion user needs across the organisation by engaging directly with end users and client-facing teams through user research, usability testing, and hands-on design work. The role focuses on uncovering user needs, validating product concepts, and creating design solutions using Figma that align with business goals and user expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Conducts user research aligned with product goals to inform feature development and prioritization.
Leads independent research initiatives and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure user insights shape product direction.
Partners with Business Analysts and customer-facing teams to translate user insights into actionable requirements.
Plans and executes usability testing to evaluate product concepts, prototypes, and features.
Uses Figma to design wireframes, interactive prototypes, and user flows that reflect research insights and support product development.
Iterates on designs based on user feedback and stakeholder input.
Synthesizes research findings into clear, actionable insights that support product decisions.
Presents research outcomes and design solutions to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with user needs.
Supports the refinement of product hypotheses through evidence-based research and design.
Contributes to the continuous improvement of research and design practices within product teams.
Owns the development of user personas, journey maps, and experience strategies to guide long-term product evolution

Knowledge, Skills + Experience

Proficiency in qualitative research methods (e.g., interviews, usability testing).
Familiarity with quantitative techniques for validating user behaviour and preferences.
Experience working in cross-functional environments with direct access to end users and client-facing team.
Strong communication skills for presenting insights and influencing product direction.
Understanding of user-centred design principles and product development cycles.
Advanced proficiency in Figma for creating wireframes, prototypes, and design systems.
Ability to translate user insights into product requirements, user stories, and design solutions.
